Blog 8 - Gun Hill

Did the touristy thing today and went on some site seeing. I went to a spot called Gun Hill (clue is in the name) which is where a military signal station built in 1818 was located. The top of this hill was used to spot approaching enemy ships and then signal to other stations using a series of flags to keep them informed with whats going on and of course to blow things up with its massive cannons!

Only had my Canon Power Shot SX210 with me today but i do love this point
and shoot and as usual it has not let me down. This also adheres to my new
favourite saying "your best camera is the one you have on you"
Being a good spot to see approaching ships (you could see all the way to the south coast) then led to it naturally being a great view point.

The reason for choosing the power shot was for how free you are when it comes to the manual settings, with
a spin of a wheel you can change aperture and shutter speed with great ease which means i was shooting
all day in this mode as it did not get annoying.

I think one of the main reasons why i tell you about my trip here is so i can show you this next video clip of the way home. There are not many main roads in Barbados, i think i have mentioned the two main once we use which is the coast road and the ABC Highway. I would like to introduce you the the D Highway...

I was honestly trying to hold this as still as possible but it made me laugh how bumpy it was, this is not even the worst I have driven down but i just wanted to share it with you.
