Today has been one of those rare occasions that i have had some time off and it just so happened that it was the last day of the test between West Indies and India. We arrived in the morning and to our surprise the tickets were free for the last day and it was sunny, perfect!
Kensington Oval |
West Indies were bating and India by all accounts were flying.

I have not done much sport photography in my time as i am not overly sporty myself. I would class myself as a sports fan however. I tend to get into sports, obsess over it for a short time then move on to something else. (Anyone who was about while the Tour de France was on last year will know about this).
Sitting there watching the cricket took me back to when i used to sit watching it with my Granddad who is very into the sport so i have watched it and i know roughly whats going on (thanks to a recap from Tom) but i have never photographed it and when i started to today i was truly taken back by how much bowlers really throw themselves around while throwing the ball. Them seem to spend a huge amount of time off of the floor which looking back over my shots i find fascinating. Shots of the Indian bowlers defying gravity as soon as you push that shutter release button. The true magic of photography.

The Oval was not full by any means but there was a good atmosphere and both India and the West Indies seemed to have allot of supports in the stands.
The youngest India supporter |
At around 12 the play was stopped for lunch, shortly afterward play resumed we decided it was time for our lunch so we left.
